Don Vawter

Prior to joining Terra-Gen, Don Vawter worked for Edison International companies for 13 years and The AES Corporation for 11 years where he was the Asset Manager for the 4,400 MW AES Southland portfolio in Southern California.

Don started his energy career as a power plant electrician fresh out of a four-year stint in the US Navy. He has held a variety of roles in the industry including Planner, Maintenance Manager, Real-Time Trader, Plant Manager, Asset Manager, Developer and Originator. Because of his varied background, he knows enough to have an opinion on almost anything but lacks the expertise to back any of it up. Despite that, he is right most of the time although he can’t always say why. Don currently leads the Terra-Gen Energy Scheduling Group, commercialization of the merchant portfolio, and Origination efforts in California.
